Madeira Fanal II

The mystical „Fairy Forest“ Fanal is located in the northwest of Madeira Island near Porto Moniz. The laurel forest consists of centuries-old trees overgrown with moss and is also the largest forest area of its kind on the island. In 1999, the Portuguese laurel forest became a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.
